Shopify context in support, without anyone hunting for order numbers
Published on March 8, 2025

The most common support question in e-commerce is also the dullest. Where is my order. The second most common is a variation of it. Why has it not arrived.
Answering that takes data, and this is where most automation gives up. It replies with a platitude and asks for the order number, which is often already in the same email.
What the agent looks up before writing
When a message arrives we classify it first. Order status, return, address change, complaint. The agent then pulls the matching context out of your shop, meaning the order, its payment status, the line items and the carrier's shipment history. Only then does it write.
In practice that is the difference between "please send us your order number" and a reply that names the current state, locates the parcel and says when it realistically arrives. If the shipment is stuck, it says so, instead of offering a reassuring sentence with nothing in it.
What changes in your inbox
The share you have to touch yourself shifts. Pure status questions run through. What reaches you are the cases with a decision inside them, meaning goodwill, special requests, and customers who are already annoyed.
We currently support Shopify. More shop systems are planned, and we would rather say what works today than keep a list that is half true.
